Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower

Knight Gwayne Hightower was a member of the House Hightower and worked for the City Watch in King’s Landing. That person was the youngest son of Ser Otto Hightower and a brother of Queen Alicent Hightower, who was King Viserys I Targaryen‘s second wife.

When his father, Ser Otto Hightower, was made Hand of the King by King Jaehaerys I Targaryen in 101 AC, Gwayne, his brothers, and his mother went to court at the Red Keep in King’s Landing.

In 111 AC, Gwayne took part in a tournament in King’s Landing to honor King Viserys I Targaryen and Queen Alicent Hightower, Gwayne’s sister, on their fifth wedding anniversary. While his sister was in the tournament, Gwayne was one of her winners, but Ser Criston Cole took him off his horse.

When the Dance of the Dragons started in 129 AC, Gwayne’s father made him second-in-command of the City Watch of King’s Landing. He was told to keep an eye on Ser Luthor Largent, who was in charge of the City Watch, for any signs that he was not loyal to his nephew, the newly crowned King Aegon II Targaryen. Grand Maester Orwyle took Gwayne and Ser Arryk Cargyll with him from King’s Landing to Dragonstone to try to make peace between Aegon II and Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, who is his half-sister.

In 130 AC, the blacks attacked King’s Landing. Gwayne ran to the stables to sound the alarm, but his leader, Luthor Largent, who still supported Prince Daemon Targaryen, grabbed him, took away his weapons, and dragged him in front of him. Ser Luthor cut Hightower down with his sword when Gwayne called him a turncloak. He then told the city walls to be opened for the black people.
